China is slowly taking over certain sectors of countries in ASEAN a good example is Cambodia's largest hydro-power project which began producing electricity on Monday Dec. 17. with the idea to increase electric energy capacity and reduce energy imports financing come from China and most of the generated electric power is exported to China.

The Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen inaugurated the 400-megawatt Lower Sesan II hydro-power dam in the northeastern province of Stung Treng. The large project based on a BOT (build-operate-transfer basis) will increase electricity production by roughly 20%.
