The Royal Palace in Phnom Penh is an impressive place with a couple of buildings in traditional Khmer style. The place is mainly for representative purpose and to show the tourists some great Khmer architecture.
This is definitely one of the highlights when visiting to Cambodia its a unique oriental experience. The place is right at the banks of the Tonle Sap River next to the National Museum and the University of Art and plenty souvenir shops showing Khmer Art of the old days and current.
Further to the east is Sisowath Quay with a lively scene day and night.
