Siem Reap to Phnom Penh
Early morning the tuk-tuk to bring us to the bus terminal stops in front of thent hotel. The transportation in Cambodia is excellent organised and works without rush although it is a bit slow but this has simply to do with the rotten environment. The alternative to the bus is a ride on the river boat on the "Tonle Sap River" which costs about the triple and takes roughly the same time. Also an aircraft is available two times a day but what for I came for a trip to see the country not the thin tropical air only. There is actually only one reason not to take a bus and that are the roads since they real bad and not everyone like the jumping around of the coach for about six hours.
I calculated the duration of the coach ride from Siem Reap to Phnom Penh as about 6 hours and there is nothing against it because the seats are comfortable with enough space around the only little problem is they always want to shut the curtain because of the sun but I want to have them open for the view.
Also when sitting down in the coach try to get a window seat and that the window is cleaned. I know most people don't think about that and when they are back from their Cambodian journey they regret and feel bad about ugly pictures.
It needs to grab the window seat since you probably want to see the flat rivers of this part of Cambodia and the floating life. It is similar to Thailand the best is do it yourself because the local people will not considering your ideas because they have different. But it should be possible to negotiate a compromise. Keep in mind for you it might be a journey of your lifetime the local travel maybe has the possibility every day.
